Law. Co. man, former teacher, in jail for sexual abuse of a minor

Harrall
Investigation alleges sexual abuse beginning in 1992; currently held without bond
A former teacher living in Lawrence County has been accused of sex crimes following an investigation of incidents taking place in the early 1990s.
Edward Harrall, 69, was accused of sexually abusing a minor multiple times between the summer of 1992 and the summer of 1993 at an address in Lawrence County.
The investigation began after the victim named in the probable cause statement stated they experienced multiple occasions of sexual abuse when she was between 10 and 11 years old.
Probable cause
In the probable cause statement, the victim claims that the first instance of sexual abuse occurred in Harrall’s vehicle. She alleged that he would perform sexual acts on her while she was in the passenger seat multiple times a week. Harrall told her not to tell any of her friends because “they wouldn’t understand.”
The victim also alleges that he continued to abuse her, stating one incident took place on the living room couch with family present, with Harrall using a blanket to cover both of their laps.
The probable cause statement also claims that Harrall would wake the victim up before anyone else in the morning in order to bathe her.
He faces a charge of sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony.
He is currently being held at the Lawrence County Jail without bond.
