LARRY K. DENNEY

Larry K. Denney, 83, of Shell Knob, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Larry was born on September 4, 1941, in Aurora, Missouri to Paul and Marjorie Lorraine (Crowell) Denney.
Larry graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1959. He retired after 20 years from United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. He was a city clerk for the town of Pierce City for many years.  He was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing on the lake and hunting deer. He was of the Baptist faith.
Larry married Juanita Raygor on August 13, 1963, in Miami, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born.
He is survived by one son, John Denney and wife Cajaida of Ilion, New York; one daughter, Robin Shelton of Cassville, Missouri; four grandchildren: Jennifer Shelton, Jessica Hobbs and husband Trey, Jaclyn Beuterbaugh and husband Caleb and Tyler Denney; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Francis Denney and wife Georgia of Purdy, Missouri and Richard Himebaugh and wife Martha of Monett, Missouri.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Denney and one brother, Raymond Denney.
Private burial will be held at a later date in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
