Lady Mt'neers end volleyball season with district title loss

After defeating Aurora in the Class 3 District 12 semi-finals (25-18, 25-15) on Tuesday, Oct. 29, the 2019 Mt. Vernon volleyball season ended in a thrilling 3-set title match with Reeds Spring, as the Lady Mt'neers fell 22-25, 25-22, 16-25.
Mt. Vernon held the lead early in all three sets, but keeping that lead proved to be more difficult, as Reeds Spring rallied in the first set after trailing by four, rallied in the second set after trailing by five and then again in the final set when trailing by two.
Ellie Johnston paced Mt. Vernon with 10 kills and two blocks and Cameryn Cassity added seven kill and three blocks. Lacy Stokes recorded 25 assists.
