Kenneth Ray “Ken” Burton

Kenneth Ray “Ken” Burton of Billings, passed away June 15, 2019. Burton was born July 11, 1942 at home in Mt. Vernon.
He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1961. While in high school, he played football and was in the FFA (Future Farmers of America) where he held the office of recorder. He served honorably in the United State Marine Corps. He married Jana Sue Moore in 1976. Burton worked as an independent truck driver, then for Associated Wholesale Grocers. As he worked for AG, he started his lifelong dream as a cattleman.
Survivors include: his wife; four children, Robert, Gary, Janeise, and Cheryl; seven siblings, Jessie Jr.(Becky), Gary (Shirley), Dorthy (Carl) Jefferies, Janet Sue (Carl) Robinson, James, Deborah (Alvin) Jones, and David;10 grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were: his parents; brother, Billie Joe; sister, Katherine; and a nephew.
A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 1 p.m., on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Miller. Family and friends may make online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
