Joyce Beatrice Hodges

Joyce Beatrice Hodges, of Galena, was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla. to Richard T. and Cecil Curtis Compton and passed away Jan. 11, 2019, at the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville.
Hodges was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crane for the past two years, prior to that she had been a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Aurora for many years. Her faith and church family were a very important part of her life. She loved her family and her sweets, she also enjoyed playing dominoes, reading and had worked as an over the road truck driver with her husband Bob.
Survivors include a daughter Deborah (Eddie) Bowling of Galena; son, Richard Angus and wife Vickie of Republic; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband Billy Joe Angus and her second husband Robert Hodges.
Funeral services were held Jan. 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. Burial was at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora under the care of Westrip Funeral Home in Crane.
