JOHNNY WILLIAMS
Johnny Williams, 85, of Purdy passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at his home in Purdy. He was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Exeter; the son of Hilsden and Annie Jewell (Mattingly) Williams.
He graduated from Exeter High School with the class of 1956. He was a member of the Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School class for over 50 years. He retired in 2000 from RM Industries after 33 years.
On Aug. 26, 1960, he married Bonnie Hayward in Springfield and they shared over 64 years of memories together.
He is survived by one son, Craig (Stacey) Williams; two daughters, Tammy Wilson and Dixie (Vaughn) Smith; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Billie Jean (John) Higgs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Bill, Bob and Mickey Williams; three sisters: Dorothy Antle, Betty Timmons and Mary Jane Barker; and two sons-in-law, David Henry and Bobby Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church in Purdy, with Reverend Lee Neill and Reverend Jerry Nickle officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
