John Dale Seratt

John Dale Seratt, age 84, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the Lawrence County Manor, in Mt. Vernon.  He was born August 14, 1935, in Nicut, Oklahoma, the son of Floyd and Florence (Tucker) Seratt.
John was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era.  He was a member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church, the Disabled American Veterans and the Mt. Vernon American Legion.
On May 29, 1954, he married Joyce Brausell, in Biloxi, Mississippi.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce; one daughter, Deanna McDonald of Carl Junction, Missouri; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Hernandez and her husband, Freddie, of Webb City, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Florence, daughter, Belinda Seratt, sister, Janice Sams and two brothers, Norman and Wallace Seratt.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Ruckman Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, in care of the funeral home.
