JANEICKA ANAEA HAYS
Janeicka Anaea Hays, age 40, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Independence, Missouri. She was born in Springfield, Missouri on Thursday, March 22,
1984; daughter of Ricky Hicks and Janelle (Curbow) Witt.
She attended Pierce City High School. Ja- neicka was a Certified Nursing Assistant and attended Drury College where she was on the dean’s list.
Surviving are the following: her parents, Janelle (Vince) Witt of Pierce City, Missouri and Ricky Hicks of Marionville, Missouri; three sons, Draven Wallace, Dagon Wallace, and Phoenix Wright; three daughters, Janet Hays, Serena Hays, and Willow Hays; and a sister, Kristen (Chris) Cates of Crane, Missouri; and their chil- dren, August and Averill Cates; and her paternal grandma, Jo Hicks of Marionville, Missouri.
Janeicka was preceded in death by a sister, Area Hicks; paternal grandparents, Sherman Hicks and Bob and Dorothy Witt; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Mary Lou Curbow.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Missouri
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Missouri with Rev. Bryan Cook and Rev. Bill Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City, Missouri.
Memorials may be made, in Janeicka’s memory, to Veterans Coming Home Center (drug rehabilitation program) or to the Pierce City backpack program.
