Jack Eugene Butterfield

Jack Eugene Butterfield, 86, of Neosho, passed away Oct. 28, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born Oct. 12, 1932 to Clyde E. and Alyce (Joachim) Butterfield in Ainsworth, Neb. In 1953, he was married to Joan Hagen in Lincoln, Neb.; she preceded him in death in 1993. Butterfield grew up and went to school in Nebraska. In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably. After the military, he was employed with the Nebraska Department of Transportation. In 1957, Butterfield transferred from Nebraska to the Missouri Department of Transportation. He was employed with MoDOT until his retirement in 1988. In 1994, he married Roselle Hofstetter Charles in Neosho; she survives. Butterfield was a Mason and a member of the Royal Heights United Methodist Church in Joplin.
