Gene M. Giffin

Gene M. Giffin, 91, of Monett, passed away Dec. 7, 2019. Giffin was born Feb. 2, 1928 in Blue Mound, Kan. to the late Clyde Samuel Giffin and Marjorie Mary (McClure) Giffin. Giffin attended schools in Kansas and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country honorably until his discharge. For most of his working years, he worked for Xidex as a micro film engineer. In 1961 he married Peggy Annette Capper. They were blessed with two children.
Giffin is survived by: his wife; son, Dan Giffin, of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Terri (Benny) Goyhenetche of Santa Clara, Calif.; brother, Ralph Giffin, of Colo.; sister, Barbara Vance, of Canada; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Giffin was preceded in death by: brothers, Charles, Donald and Lyman Giffin; and sister, Becky Williford.
Per Giffin’s wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, 301 Euclid Ave in Monett.
