Gary Allen Schoen

Gary Allen Schoen, 75, of Monett, MO, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, while at Lacoba Homes in Monett.  
Gary was born on July 26, 1944 in Freistatt, MO, son of the late Herman and Rufena (Krueger) Schoen. Gary graduated from Verona High School with the Class of 1962. He later served his country honorably in the Army National Guard. He worked for over thirty-two years at Carnation Milk, which later became Silgan. Gary was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, as well as the Joplin Masonic Lodge and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield. Gary enjoyed spending time on Table Rock Lake in his house boat and fishing, as well as gardening and spending time with his family.
On June 29, 1973, Gary married Linda Sue Barnes in Mt. Vernon, MO. They have been blessed with over forty-six years of wonderful memories made together.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; one son, Jason Allen Schoen, of Monett; two grandchildren, Geren Schoen and Graceyn Schoen; one brother, Maurice Schoen and wife Faye, of Monett; two nephews, Jeff Schoen and wife Amy and Christopher Schoen and wife Molly; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Larson and husband Bruce, of Mt. Vernon and Gayle Butler and husband Gary, Lee’s Summit, MO; one brother-in-law, Jim Barnes and wife Evelyn, Mt. Vernon; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Richard Barnes.
Gary has been cremated at his request. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
