Friendly winter weather hits Lawrence County

Despite a much ballyhooed winter weather event that hit much of southwest Missouri over the weekend, Lawrence County came out mostly unscathed.
Neighboring counties experienced tornadic weather, flash flooding and inches of snow. While much of the anticipated weather did hit Lawrence County, the precipitation came in the form of rain. An even three inches fell on Friday, Jan. 10.
Lawrence County Commissioner Bob Senninger said that no roads in the county were closed due to flooding. Lawrence County Sheriff Brad DeLay added that thankfully there were no water rescues during the disaster that wasn’t.
