Evelyn Bowman

Evelyn Bowman, 84, of Monett passed from this life on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 while at Lacoba Homes in Monett.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1941 in Cassville, daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred Bennett. Growing up in Purdy, she graduated with the class of 1959. For many years, she worked as a legal secretary. She faithfully served the Lord and was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed collecting antiques and she loved her Dr. Pepper.
On March 18, 1960 in Purdy, Evelyn Bennett and Edward Bowman were united in marriage. To this union, they were blessed with four children.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie, of the home; her children: Johnny Bowman and wife Carol, of Purdy, Gina Brown and husband Bill, of Lindale, Texas, Joanna Eakin and husband Danny, of Reeds Spring and Jeremy Bowman, of Branson West; her six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Jim Bennett, of Purdy; her sisters-in-law Charlene Bennett, of Monett and Jeannie Bennett, of Purdy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mildred Bennett; her brothers, Marvin, Clinton, Glendell and Gary; and her sisters, Marilyn, Wilma, Mildred, Nadine and Betty.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Buchanan Funeral Home with Brother Randy Rankin and Brother Mike Brazle officiating. Interment will follow at Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
