Eula Mae Irwin

Eula Mae Irwin, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at her home with her three children present.  She was born August 22, 1944, in Chesapeake, Missouri, the daughter of Lee William and Grace Ann (Hembree) Ross.
Eula grew up on a farm northwest of Mt. Vernon and was a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon.  She attended Center School, which was a one room school, from the first grade thru the fifth grade, and was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.  Her life passion was her children, grandchildren, gardening and oil painting.
Eula worked for 34 years at the Lawrence County Court House in the Circuit Court Associate Division, was the Sheriff’s personal secretary, a Deputy Sheriff and one year in the child enforcement unit of the Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
Eula is survived by her daughter, LeeAnn West and her husband, Cory, of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Ross Irwin of Cordova, Tennessee and Dewayne Irwin and his wife, Angie, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one sister, Sarah Dunn and her husband, James of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Grace, sister, Mary Ann Ross, three brothers, Jesse Ross and his wife, Belva, Tom Ross and his wife, Lois, and Kenneth Ross.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at the Salem Cemetery.  
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Salem Cemetery for cemetery upkeep in care of the funeral home.
