Ellis Ray Hutton

Ellis Ray “PaPa” Hutton, 68, passed away Jan. 24, 2019, in St. Louis with his daughter at his side. He was born Oct. 1, 1950, in Richland to the late Jewel Hutton and Virgil Hutton.
Hutton graduated from Richland High School in 1969. From 1969 to 1972, He served in the Army in the Vietnam War. He was in the Diesel Mechanic industry at Springfield Public Schools as a lead mechanic until retiring in 1998 and worked in the Healthcare industry at Cox Health Systems as an Engineering Technician until retiring in 2008.
His hobbies included wood working, baking cobblers for friends, basket making, collecting movies and watching his grandson play Billings Wildcat baseball. He was a prayer group member at Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. He loved being a Camp Counselor at Happy Hollow Bible Camp where he baptized many brothers and sisters in Christ’s name.
Hutton is survived by: his loving wife, Deborah; daughter, Heather Hutton (Drew) Harter; one grandchild; a host of friends; and pet, Petey the bird. He was preceded in death by his dogs, Gabe, Potter, and Dudley.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., and the memorial service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, in Meadors Funeral Home, 101 NE Pine Street, Billings, Missouri, 65610.
