Edgar “Ed” Wallace Carrington

Edgar “Ed” Wallace Carrington, age 92, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, formerly of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon.  He was born April 7, 1927, in Miller, Missouri, the son of the late Leland Frank and Maxine Marie (Merrick) Carrington.
Ed was a 1944 graduate of Oklahoma City High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a United States Marine veteran serving during World War II.  He was a Missouri State Trooper and a retired supervisor from Carnation Can Factory in Mt. Vernon.  He was a cattle farmer, a Mason for 70 plus years, member of the Miller American Legion, Eastern Star, Heart of the Ozarks Model T Ford Club in Springfield, Missouri and the Miller Christian Church.
On June 12, 1948, he married Melba May Jones, in Miller, Missouri.
Ed is survived by his wife of 71 years, Melba; one daughter, Patty Garrett and her husband, Butch, of Springfield, Missouri; one son, Lee Carrington, of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Dr. Brandy Garrett Kluthe and her husband, John, of Clinton, New Jersey and Bo Garrett and his wife, Anna, of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico and three great-grandchildren, Garrett, Luke and Kira Kluthe.
A visitation was held from 1:00–2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial followed at the Sycamore Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt Vernon in care of the funeral home.
