Drury hosts multicultural faire in Monett, highlights 8 local cultures

Drury University in Monett recently sponsored a “culture and community” event, featuring presentations from eight different cultures now residing in the town. The cultures represented at the event were Hakha Chin from Myanmar, Nepal, Karen from Myanmar, Guatemala, Mexico, Karenni from Myanmar, the Philippines, and Hmong. Participants presented dance and singing performances, runway showcases, and displays. The event was held at the First United Methodist Church and attended by more than 200 people. Plans are underway for a second cultural faire next year.
