Five face charges after Mt. Vernon police make arrests on McCanse Street
Five Mt. Vernon residents are facing drug charges after a warrant was served at a Mt. Vernon residence. Tammy Dodson, Erik Foster, and Lorisa Bolin were all booked into the Lawrence County Jail late on Dec. 9, while Christopher Dodson and Larry Forester were booked into the jail in early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 10.
Warrant served on house at McCanse Street
According to the probable cause statement in the case, a warrant was served by officers from the Mt. Vernon Police Department on Dec. 9 at a residence on McCanse Street at about 8:38 p.m. Upon their arrival, the officers detained Tammy Dodson, Forester, Bolin and Foster. Nothing in the probable cause statement indicates that the officers encountered Christopher Dodson while serving the warrant.
One of the officers placed Foster in his patrol car and, after reading him the Miranda Warning, asked him if there was anything he (the officer) needed to know about the residence. The officer reported that Foster said there were some un-used syringes hanging in the pocket of a coat hanging in his bedroom. Asked if there were any narcotics in the house, Foster said there were not.
Search turns up possible drugs and drug paraphernalia
Officers performed searches on the individuals and the house. They reported finding on Tammy Dodson two crystal bags containing crystal-like substances that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and gummies in a container. Larry Forester allegedly had a 128 MB SD Card, five clear, empty baggies, $20 in cash and a syringe containing meth. Foster was found with $406 in cash on him.
In a bedroom identified as belonging to Foster and Bolin, the officer reported finding drugs and drug paraphernalia.
In the second bedroom, identified as belonging to Chris and Tammy Dodson, the officer reported finding more drug paraphernalia.
In the living room of the residence, the officers, again, found mores drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The officers also searched a 2002 Impala, where they reportedly found a pipe and THC wax in the center console, three small scale weights, and a Christmas-like red stocking in the backseat that had a black hand glove in it that contained $4,000. The stocking had the name “Seth” on it.
According to the probable cause statement, the residence where the warrant was served is located about 140 feet from a Mt. Vernon school property.

According to the probable cause statement, Dodson allegedly sent text messages of a sexual nature to his P.O., a woman, on Oct. 26. In the messages, Dodson allegedly attempted to solicit sex from her, with one of the messages allegedly stating he was going to give her “the best time ever.” The parole officer reported that she felt harassed by Dodson and was in fear of her safety supervision and performing home visits with him.
