Digger ruptures gas line in Mt. Vernon

The morning of Friday, June 21, a private contractor in Mt. Vernon was making a sewer line repair at a residence on Pleasant Street, near Market, when a Spire gas line was struck and ruptured by the mini-excavator, said City Administrator Joe Kelley. Fortunately, no harm otherwise resulted from the incident and the repair was made duly by Spire.
