David Lincoln Dunbar

David Lincoln Dunbar, age 78, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 10:29 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at his home.  He was born January 17, 1940, in Brockton, Massachusetts, the son of Chester Lincoln and Christine (‘D’Auteuil’) Dunbar.
David was a 1958 graduate of Oblate Seminary in Bucksport, Maine.  He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1958-1962 in the Tactical Missile training wing. In 1962 he became a part of the Honeywell Avionics field engineer support group until retirement in 2002. He was a member of the St. Susanne Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon.  
On December 31, 1999, he married Carol Hobbs in Laughlin, Nevada.
David is survived by his wife of 19 years, Carol; one daughter, Jennifer Dunbar of Brockton, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Alex Fegundas and Kristi Carney; one great-grandson, Logan Carney; two step-daughters, Michael-Anne Swanner and her husband, Edward, of Glendale, Arizona and Michelle Sarandos of New River, Arizona; one stepson, Eric Paxton, of Glendale, Arizona; five step-grandchildren, Tony and Sarah Sarandos and Madison, Wyatt and Abigail Paxton.
His parents, Chester and Christine, and sister, Paulette, preceded him in death.
A funeral service under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the St. Susanne Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. Rosary was held from 6:00-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, with visitationfrom 6:30- 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the St. Susanne Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
