Dallas Eugene Wahlert

Dallas Eugene Wahlert, 82, of Monett, passed away Jan. 7, 2020. He was born May 9, 1937, to the late Marion and Marjorie (Schwab) Wahlert. He graduated from Exira High School with the class of 1956 and worked in construction most of his life, including Morton Buildings and Vaughn Construction. Wahlert served his country in the United States Army Airborne, being honorably discharged in June of 1962. In 1961, he married Gail Chase; she preceded him in death in 2009.
Survivors include: sons, Paul (Glenda) Wahlert of Cassville and Stephen Wahlert of Monett; daughter, Leah (Glen) Aldridge of Monett; brother, Howard (Teresa) Wahlert of Waukee, Iowa; two sisters-in-law; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; He was also preceded in death by: brother, Jerry D. Wahlert; and one great-grandson.
A funeral service was held Jan. 10, 2020 at New Site Baptist Church in Monett. Interment followed the service at New Site Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the New Site Baptist Church Building fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
