St. Susanne Food Pantry in Mt. Vernon to receive $1,000 donation

At a time when many Americans are facing unprecedented hardships as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the family farm-owners and employees of Dairy Farmers of America, a national dairy cooperative, are stepping up to provide nutritious dairy products to those in need.
To help families struggling with hunger, Dairy Farmers of America and its family farmer-owners have donated the equivalent of more than 625,000 gallons of milk to food banks across the country. Additionally, through the creation of the DFA Cares Farmers Feeding Families Fund, DFA and its farmer-owners are raising money to help provide essential support and deliver much-needed dairy products to community food banks across the country.
DFA farmer-owners are being asked to help identify rural communities in need of dairy products for distribution, resulting in donations to more than 70 communities so far, including St. Susanne Food Pantry in Mt. Vernon. The food pantry will receive a $1,000 donation to purchase dairy products.
