Cleo Deal Gaines

Cleo Deal Gaines, 86, of Pierce City, passed away, July 21, 2019 at Bentonview Park Health and Rehab in Monett. Gaines was born in Cumby, Texas Feb. 6, 1933, to Arlie and Alice (Keenum) Gaines. He was married to Ruth Long; she preceded him in death.
Gaines was retired from Wells Fargo where he was a security guard. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was in the Army serving as military police. He lived in Texas for many years and enjoyed hunting coons. He moved to Pierce City, in 2004.
Surviving are the following: daughter, Rosie Miller of Pierce City; sons, Bobby Gaines of Ft. Smith, Ark. and Andy Cleo Gaines of Ark.; brother, Kenneth Gaines of Cumby, Texas;13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; son, Adell Wayne Gaines; daughter, Penny Gaines; one grandchild; and brothers, Troy, Audie, and Bobby Joe Gaines.
The family will receive friends on July 24, 2019 from 12-1:30 p.m. at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City. Graveside services, with Military Honors, will follow at 2 p.m. at the Pierce City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
