With students returning to school next week so begins the annual Friday Night Lights excitement. Getting ready for this season Mt. Vernon Cheer held their competition choreography camp from Sunday to Tuesday laying out their competition routine. The team will perform the routine on Sept. 29, when they travel to Kansas City for Regionals. This year marks the first year with a co-ed competition squad with new head coach Andrea Piepenbrink leading at the helm. They will open the season with the jamboree on Aug. 23 and then cheer on the Mt’neers as they face Aurora as the host of the annual Bell Bowl on Aug. 30, with the home field advantage.
