Charlie William Childress

Charlie William Childress, 65, of Purdy, passed away Jan. 16, 2019, while at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Wheaton Jan. 28, 1953, to the late Homer and Lola (Moore) Childress. He was married Nov. 4, 1993, to Beverly Gott; she survives. He was the owner of Childress Roofing in Purdy.
Childress is survived by: daughter, Brandi (Jeremy) Krempges of Mt. Vernon; his wife Beverly of the home; two step-sons: Keith Landes of Joplin and Ronnie Edwards of Van Cleave, Miss.; two step-daughters, Patricia (Jim) Arnaud of Monett and Rebecca (Harry) Hovis of Houston, Texas; brother, Rodney (Laquita) Childress of Pierce City; half-brother, Kenny (Sallie) Pryor of Monett; step-brother, Alvin (Mary Jo) Pryor of Purdy; sister, Marsha Mize of Sarcoxie; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Jan. 21, 2019, with visitation that followed services at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
