Cardinals battle but fall to Tigers

Miller senior Rose Hill finishes through traffic against Stockton.

Miller had just one game last week, in Stockton, where they fell 53-44 in a hard fought battle against the Tigers.
Miller’s Alex Pennington came out on fire hitting three first quarter threes that factored in an 11-4 Miller lead early on. A three by Owen Weiss towards the end of the period put Miller at 14 first quarter points, but a big final couple minutes from Stockton star Jay Baxter gave the Tigers a 17-14 lead.
The Tigers went on a big run towards the end of the second quarter and into the third and pushed the lead up to 17 points at one point, but the Cardinals kept fighting. The Cardinals came back and cut the lead down to just five after a Nate Hill three ball, but Baxter proved to be too much down the stretch as the Tigers took this one 53-44.
Miller falls to 9-13 for the year with three games remaining this season. They will play all three this week as they opened Monday against Greenfield, before returning home for games Tuesday and Wednesday against Marionville and Pierce City.
