An Aurora man was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 16, after he was accused of threatening two Probation and Parole officers who went to speak to him. Julian Jackson, 32, faces one count of tampering with a judicial officer.
According to the probable cause statement in the case, Jackson allegedly began shouting at the officers as they came to his residence on Wednesday, Jan.15.
Wes Coatney, chief of the Aurora-Marionville Police Department, stated that Jackson became “verbally threatening and aggressive with the officers.”
“He yelled at them, told them to get off of his property, accused them of being racist, told them that he would find out who they are (threatening retaliation), and forced them to make a tactical retreat from his property for their safety.”
Coatney added that the officers provided written statements about what happened.
As of press time, Jackson remains in custody at the Lawrence County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Feb. 10, for a hearing on a motion to release him on his own recognizance.
