ANNORA ROSALEE (HOLT) TODD

Annora Rosalee (Holt) Todd, 97, of Aurora passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, just one day short of her 98th birthday. She was born on Oct. 14, 1926; the third of five daughters born to Monroe and Annora “Annie” (Preston) Holt.
She was a proud Houn’ Dawg and graduated from Aurora High School in 1943. She attended nursing school at Graff Vo-Tech becoming an LPN. She had a career as a nurse and caregiver at the Missouri Rehab Center in Mount Vernon.
She married Early Burnell Todd, Jr. in 1943 before he left to fight in WWII.
She was active in many organizations which focused on her children including Scouts, AFS, and 4-H. Over the years, she welcomed foreign exchange students from Italy, Argentina, and Denmark into her home. Additionally, she served in roles as president of the Lawrence County PTA, president of the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary, worked in the Lawrence County Assessor’s Office, and served two terms as a councilwoman for the city of Aurora.
She is survived by her three children: Randell (Reatha) Todd of Mount Vernon, Kandence (Keith) Cloud of Jackson, Tenn. and Krystal (JC) Metzelthin of Springfield; two grandchildren; her twin sisters, Marilyn Estes of Marionville and Marlys Heindel of New Orleans, La.; and many loving nephews, their families and  numerous friends.
A private interment and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Holden Cremation and Funeral Services in Sparta.
