Alice Ruth Christiansen

Alice Ruth (Winterbower) Christiansen, 79, Springfield, passed away in her home, June 4, 2019. She was born July 23, 1939, in Mexico, to Clarence A. and Mary A. (Bell) Winterbower.
In 1962, she married Dr. Peter William “Bill” Christiansen, and they spent their adult life in Golden City, while raising their family. He preceded her in death in 2010. Upon retirement they moved to their farm in Miller, where she enjoyed bird watching and the beauty of nature. Her hobbies included, music, sewing, reading and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by: sons, Edgar (Betty) Christiansen and Eric (Ramona) Christiansen; brother, Sam (Fern) Winterbower; sister, Hannah Qualls; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: siblings, Lola, William, Robert, and Daniel.
Services were held at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, June 8, 2019. Interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Clever. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity at habitat.org. Family and friends may share online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
