The Ozarks Steam Engine Association held their 62nd Annual Steam-O-Rama, a festival celebrating antique steam and gas engine technology, at their new grounds on the old Whinrey Homestead in Halltown from Thursday, Sept. 12, through Sunday, Sept. 15; it was the second year that the event had been held since moving from their previous location in Republic. The event included various demonstrations of antique machinery, including threshing, sawing, sorghum making and more. There were also tractor pulls, steam and gas-powered engine parades, and children’s activities. Several antique engines were on display throughout the event, including 28 steam traction engines, 425 tractors, 100 gas engines and 30 antique trucks. Steam-O-Rama is held each year beginning on the 10th day following Labor Day.
